Minimum Qualification of Professionals

 

Position:    621-033 Dental Hygienist

Description:                                             The dental hygienist removes deposits and stains from teeth,

                                                                Educates the patients in the control and prevention of oral disease

                                                                (cavities) and periodontal (gum), taking medical and dental histories,

                                                                Preparing diagnostic tests for interpretation, charting conditions of

                                                                Decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.  Examines

                                                                Gums, to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease.

                                                                Take and develop X-rays, or apply fluoride or sealants.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:             One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                 Associate degree in dental hygiene from an accredited college.

Certification/License:                               Current unrestricted License. 

                                                                Continuing Education hours (hours depending on the state he/she

                                                                Is licensed in) is required.  

BCLS:                                                       Required

References:                                              Supervisory and professional references.

 

Position:    621-033 Certified Dental Assistant

Description:                                             The dental assistant assists the dentist, set up patient and equipment,

                                                                And keeps records.

                                                                Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up

                                                                Instrument trays, prepares materials and assists the dentist during

                                                                Dental procedures.  Takes and records medical and dental histories and

                                                                Vital signs of patients.  Records treatment information in patient

                                                                Records.  Assists dentist in management of medical and dental

                                                                Emergencies.  Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays.  Applies protective

                                                                Coating of fluoride to teeth.  Provides postoperative instructions

                                                                Prescribed by dentist.  Makes preliminary impressions for study casts.

                                                                Pours, trims, and polishes study casts.  Cleans and polishes removable

                                                                Appliances.  Clerical duties within the department.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                Graduate from an accredited school for Dental Assistants.

Certification/License:                               Licensed/Registered Dental Assistant is required in some states.

                                                                Certification or permit for use of dental x-ray equipment.

CPR:                                                         Current BLS/CPR Required

References:                                              Supervisory and Professional references.

 

Position:    621-033 Dental Laboratory Technician

Description:                                             The Dental Lab. Technician constructs and repairs full or partial

                                                                dentures for dental appliances.

                                                                Fabricates dental appliances or apparatus, such as dentures,

                                                                Retainers or metal bands.  Rebuilds or replaces linings, wire

                                                                Sections, and missing teeth to repair dentures.  Casts plastic,

                                                                Plaster, and metal framework and removes mold from frame.

                                                                Reads prescription or specifications and examines models and

                                                                Impressions to determine design of dental products to be

                                                                Constructed.  

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                 One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                 Dental Laboratory Technician Certification from an accredited school.

Certifications/License:                              Dental Laboratory Technician Certification required.   

BCLS:                                                        Not Required

Position:    621-038 Licensed Practical/ Vocational Nurse

Description:                                             The LPN/LVN works under the supervision of a registered nurse.

                                                                Administers specified medication, and notes time and amount on

                                                                Patients’ charts.  Takes and records patients’ vital signs.  Dresses

                                                                Wounds, gives alcohol rubs and massages.  Applies compresses,

                                                                Ice bags and hot water bottles.  Observes patients and reports adverse

                                                                Reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.

                                                                Bathes, dresses and assists patients in walking and turning.  Assembles

                                                                And uses such equipment as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen

                                                                Suppliers.  Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from

                                                                Patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples.

                                                                Sterilizes equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or

                                                                Autoclave.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                Certification is required from an accredited school of Practical or

                                                                Vocational Nursing.              

Certification/License:                               State License is required.

Position:    621-039 Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

Description:                                             Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the

                                                                Direction of physician.  Administrative duties may include

                                                                Scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing,

                                                                And coding for insurance purposes.  Clinical duties may include taking

                                                                And recording vital signs and medical histories, EKGs, preparing

                                                                Patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering

                                                                Medications as directed by physician.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                Graduate from a Medical Assisting program. High school diploma.

Certification/License:                               BLS

Reference:                                               Supervisory and professional references.

               

Position:    621-046 Phlebotomist

Description:                                             Works under the guidance of Lab. Supervisor.  Draws blood, collects

                                                                Specimen, performs EKGs, process and accession of specimens for

                                                                Send-outs to other facilities.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                High school diploma and completion of Phlebotomy Program.

Certification/State License:                      Phlebotomy Certificate.                      

BLS:                                                         Required

Reference:                                               Supervisory and professional references.

 

Position:    621-050b Computed Tomography Technologist

Description:                                             Takes x-rays and CAT scans or administer non-radioactive

                                                                Materials into patient’s blood stream for diagnostic purposes.  Works in

                                                                Inpatient and outpatient settings.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                Graduate from an accredited school for Computed Tomography Technologist.

Certification/State License:                      ARRT as administered by Association of Registered Radiologic Technologist.                     

BCLS:                                           Required

Reference:                                   Excellent supervisory and professional references.

 

Position:    621-050g Diagnostic Imaging, X-ray Technologist

Description:                                             Maintains and use equipment and supplies necessary to

                                                                Demonstrate portions the human body on x-ray film or

                                                                Fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes.

                                                                Uses beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding skills

                                                                To minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.  Reviews

                                                                And evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, or computer generated

                                                                Information for technical quality.  Explains procedures and observes

                                                                Patients to ensure safety and comport.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                One year experience within the last 3 years.

Minimum Education:                                Graduate from an accredited school as an X-ray Technologist.

Certification/State License:                      ARRT certified.                   

BCLS:                                                       Required

Reference:                                               Excellent supervisory and professional references.

 

Position:    621-051 Certified Pharmacy Technician

Description:                                             Prepares medications under the direction of a pharmacist.  May

                                                                Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages

                                                                Of medications.  Counts stock and enters data in computer to

                                                                Maintain inventory records.  (For inpatient pharmacy): Prepares

                                                                Intravenous (IV) packs, using sterile technique, under supervision

                                                                Of hospital pharmacists.

Yrs of Experience in Specialty:                 One year experience within the last 3 years in retail or hospital

                                                                Pharmacy.

Minimum Education:                                High school diploma. Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program.

Certification/State License:                      C.Ph.T.- Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate required.

BCLS:                                           Depending on the requirement of the task order.
