Assistant for 30 hours per week in
The dental assistant assists the dentist, set up patient and
equipment, and keeps records. Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects
instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials and assists the
dentist during dental procedures. Takes and records medical and dental
histories and vital signs of patients. Records treatment
information in patient records. Assists dentist in
management of medical and dental emergencies. Exposes
dental diagnostic x-rays. Applies protective coating
of fluoride to teeth. Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by
dentist. Makes preliminary impressions for study casts.
Pours, trims, and polishes study casts. Cleans and polishes removable
appliances. Clerical duties within the department.
Yrs of Experience in Specialty: One year experience within the last 3 years.
Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited school for Dental Assistants.
Certification/License: Licensed/Registered Dental Assistant is required in some
states. Certification or permit for use of dental x-ray equipment.
CPR: Current BLS/CPR Required.
The schedule will normally consist of thirty (30) one (1) hour sessions per
week, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), between the hours of
